LO QUE MI VIDA SE TRATA DE (What My Life Is All About) -created by Vannerie for her speech class

Ladies and gentlemen, do we need to let others to define our life?

I don’t know if this exactly happened to me, but this started when I used to make others laugh and to make them feel entertained. Those people think that I’m funny and blissful; but here’s the truth - yes, I am funny, but I’m not a clown; I look hilarious, but I’m not a comedian . I don’t need to be a clown or a comedian to make people laugh, for I am nobody but myself. I, who draws pictures of happy moments in every living creature. And I, who doesn’t mind whatever will I be look like; just for the sake of making others laugh.

Oftentimes, I’m aware that I look strange whenever I’m doing such things. Some people call me crazy, others call me nuts. This has been the difficult times of my life, wherein I should decide if I’ll stop making fun of myself or simply stop doing such crazy things and just change myself.

Actually, I tried to become the one who does normal things, and I said to myself, “I won’t behave this way anymore.”

After that, I started to see sad and worried faces, but still, I turned a blind eye. I’m aware that I am that Vannerie who’s fond of making others happy yet I’ve changed myself in an instance for I just want to stop others to criticize me?  Honestly, I got hurt knowing the fact that I’ve changed.  I’ve changed for myself for I am selfish.

As days passed, I felt that my boat had lost a thousand men. My life is bound between a rock and a hard place. By this, I realized that I need to make every day of my life count. And how would I do it? It is by making people happy again. Doing such made my life regain back its meaning. Now, I have a new boat and the number of its men was doubled.

I never regretted what happened in my life before. In fact, I’m giving a handful of thanks to those who called me crazy, nuts, and whatsoever. From now on, I’ll never be easily affected by these obstacles again, ‘cause you know what? I’ve had them. Everybody has had them. Obstacles and criticisms don’t have to stop me making people happy. Don’t let your future be ruined by a bunch of ugly monkeys.
Ladies and gentlemen, don’t let others define your life; just be yourself; because an original is worth more than a copy.
